A Real Important Date To Remember when searching for a Mobile/Manufactured Home
Manufactured homes built prior to June 15, 1976 were built to a lesser standard and are not considered to be as safe as homes built after that date. That is why FHA does not insure mortgages on pre 1976 manufactured making it near impossible to get a loan for those homes.
According to the US Department of Housing and Urban Development or “HUD”…
“A manufactured home must be built after June 15, 1976, and bear an affixed “HUD seal“ on each section to be eligible for FHA Insurance. The appraiser should verify the location and wording on the seal(s). Manufactured houses built before June 15, 1976, must be rejected. No exceptions are allowed.”

NOTE: We require that multi-section homes or “double wides” be built after 1976 and single wides be built after 1996.
